Synchronising Read Codes

Introduction

Read Code sets are updated in new versions of Docman, and a Read Code synchronisation is required to start using new codes.

Docman automatically starts a Read Code synchronisation after an update if there are Read Codes to update. Manually starting a Read Code synchronisation should not be required, except in certain circumstances where the automatic synchronisation has not run through or has encountered an error.

The following guide demonstrates the process of starting a Read Code synchronisation manually.

Synchronising Read Codes

Read Codes are synchronised in the Administration module, under Configuration and Integration.

Click here for a guide to getting into the Docman Administration module.

 

Log into Docman as a user that has access to the Administration module, and click the Settings tile.

Then click Administer System.

The Docman Administration module opens.

Select "Configuration and Integration", then “Synchronise Read Codes”.

Docman asks you to confirm this choice.

A progress bar appears as the synchronisation runs. Once the synchronisation is complete, the option to close the window and return to the System Administration module appears.

The Read Codes are now synchronised between Docman and the Clinical System.
