This document is designed as a guide to the changes in Docman version 8. It is recommended that this guide is distributed to staff before the update takes place.
Note: When the server has been upgraded to Docman 8, all client workstations are notified upon logging on that the client upgrade needs to run.

Sites on 71280 or below need to check their scanning layouts before updating, and remove any layouts that only have numbers in their title.
Open Batch Manager by clicking File Documents.
Open the Setup Scanning Layouts window.
If there are any scanning layouts that only have numbers in the title, highlight them by left-clicking and click Delete.
Click Close when finished.
Once the scanning layouts have been removed and Docman is updated to the newest version, the layouts may be re-added.
Open Batch Manager by clicking File Documents.
Open the Setup Scanning Layouts window.
Click New Layout.
Select the layout settings, then click Save Layout.
The details of the new layout appear, as well as a blank Name text field. Enter the name for the new scanner layout, then click Save.
The new layout appears in the list. Click Close to close the Scanning Layouts window and return to Batch Manager.

The Docman 8 client install is performed using [Network Drive]:\PCTI\DOCMAN7\Install\Setup.exe instead of the original client install directory.
Docman program files now reside on the local client workstations. This will improve performance, especially at Docman branch sites, as the applications are no longer called through the network.
An issue was identified when adding pages to a batch after making revisions (rotating, adding highlights). The Add Page button would not work on a revised document without closing and reopening Batch Manager first, to save the revisions. This is now fixed, and the revisions are automatically saved upon switching to a new page.

If the revisions were made then a page from the batch was removed, the revisions would not be saved on the remaining pages.
