Import from a Section

Importing from a section allows you import documents from existing Non-Patient sections within Docman.  So this may be something like Secured or Surgery documents. 

In the example above you can see there are five documents in the Surgery Documents Data Section.  We will now import them into Docman and show you the end result.

Documents Imported can be viewed by clicking on the Recently added option and then on the related Tags. 

Notice also the notes appended to the documents in Docman are imported as comments.

Instructions for Importing a Data Section

Click on the Import from Data Section on the Manage Tab.

The Library Import screen will open.

This first screen in the process explains that the document folders have been replaced with Tags.  Tags offer a much more flexible approach to handling documentation and you may wish to add more tags to your documents after you have imported them to the Library.  For more information on Tags please see our Quick Start Guide to Docman Back Office Library. 

When you are ready to begin, click the Next button on the bottom right of the screen.

You will be taken to the next step in the process.  This is where you select which section or sections you wish to import. 

Select the section or sections you wish to import by clicking in the box next to the section titles.

Below the section list it will tell you how many sections and documents you have selected for import.

Click on the Next button on the bottom right of the screen to commence the Import.

You will receive a message asking you to confirm the Import.  Click Yes to continue.

The import will begin.  Once the selected documents have been imported you will see an Import Report displayed on your screen. 

This report will confirm the number of sections and documents imported. 

You can repeat the import on other sections by Clicking the Run Again button on the bottom left of the screen or you can close this screen by clicking on the Finish button on the bottom right of the screen.   If you select Run again you will be returned to the welcome screen at the beginning of the import section process.
