Changing Backup User Account

Ref: DM-CASB01

The Docman backup service requires a Windows user account to run successfully. This is usually configured upon install by the Docman Engineer, and should not require user interaction. However, in some cases the Windows user account details may change, and the Docman backup service will need altering to use these new details.

Begin by opening the backup monitor window.

Click Stop. This enables the "Uninstall" option. Click Uninstall.

Stopping and uninstalling the backup service enables the Edit Existing button, which allows you to edit your backup configuration. Click Edit Existing.

The Service Information screen opens. This displays the Windows user name that the backup service uses, as well as a Password field with the current password obscured with asterisks. Single left click in the Password field and press backspace or delete to remove the current password, then enter the new password in its place.

You are returned to the main Service Control Manager screen. Click Install then Start to restart the backup service.

The password is now changed, and the backup service is running as normal.
