Starting a Collection Schedule

This guide is intended to demonstrate the process of starting or stopping a scheduled collection.

The Docman Scheduler runs in the background of the chosen workstation and runs collection tasks automatically. The collection tasks are pre-configured and do not need to be created by the practice.

In some cases, the automatic collection schedule will be stopped. For example, a site that has had Scheduler configured ahead of going live may have chosen to leave the collection in a stopped state until the go-live date. The collection task will need to be started at the site's selected date.

Note: A started task displays the status "Waiting" rather than "Started" or "Running". This is because the started task is waiting for the next scheduled collection time. A collection can be performed immediately regardless of the schedule by using the Run Now option.

Docman Scheduler displays all configured collection tasks. The Status column indicates the current condition of each task. Waiting status indicates that the collection is started, and is waiting for the next collection time. Stopped indicates that the task is stopped, and will not run until the task is started.

To start a stopped collection task, highlight the collection and click the Start button.

The task status changes to Waiting, to show that the task is started and waiting for the next assigned collection time.
