NHSMail Collection – Change Password

NHSMail passwords expire regularly for security reasons, and you will need to update the EDT profile with the new password for the NHSMail account that it connects to.

You do not require a Docman account to access the EDT profile, but you need to be on the specific workstation that runs the EDT Scheduler and performs the collections.

Begin by opening the Docman Scheduler.

The Docman Scheduler runs on a specific computer in the surgery. This is usually the Docman Server. However, this may vary depending on the site’s preferences during install.

 

The Scheduler usually runs in the background, and is accessible via the icon in the system tray. Right click this icon and select “Show Scheduled Tasks”. If the icon does not appear, double-click the Docman Scheduler desktop icon to open the Scheduler.

The EDT screen varies between surgeries depending on the sources they collect from. This surgery has a single NHSMail collection and a Hub collection.

Identify and highlight the NHSMail task by left clicking it. Click “Edit Task”.

The Task Setup window appears. This screen allows you to edit basic EDT settings, such as the collection schedule time.

Click “Edit” to enter the EDT Connect Configuration window.

Click Configure

The IMAP connection details appear on the next window.

Change the password to the new NHSMail password. Click Test Connection to check that the connection details are correct – if the connection details are correct, it will come up with a “Test Connection all ok” message.

Click Save. This returns you to the first EDT Connect screen. Click Save again.

Depending on your NHSMail EDT configuration, you may receive a warning prompt regarding the sender and subject filter. Click Yes if this appears.

Click Save on the Task Setup window to return to the Scheduled Tasks Manager main screen.

With the new password now configured, click Run Now to start a collection.
